Rosemary Mauricio, born on November 11, 1927, in Dallas, Texas, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family in Georgetown, Texas, on April 11, 2024, at the age of 96. Daughter of Dionisio Martinez and Benita Trevino, Rosemary was a devout Catholic and an active parishioner of St. Catherine of Siena and Mary Immaculate Catholic churches in Carrollton, and was a member of the local court of Catholic Daughters of the Americas.
Married to Manuel Mauricio for 55 years until his passing in 2002, Rosemary's profound love and unwavering support for her husband, a wounded WWII combat veteran, formed the cornerstone of their family. Together, they nurtured a loving and stable home in Dallas's Oak Cliff area and later in Carrollton, Texas, raising five children with deep affection and steadfast values. The family lived a short time in Tucson, Arizona, due to Manuel’s work before ultimately returning to Texas.
Rosemary was predeceased by her sister, Elia Moon; her son, Daniel, in 2015; and her daughter, Christine, just a week prior to her own passing. She is lovingly remembered by her children, Patricia Evanoff of Georgetown, Texas; Maria Rodriguez of Hutchins, Texas; and Manuel Mauricio, Jr. of Dallas, Texas. Rosemary's enduring legacy continues through her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who will carry forward her blessings. As mom would always say “Que Dios te bendiga”
In her later years, despite frail health, Rosemary's spirit remained undaunted. She moved to an assisted living facility near her daughter Patricia in Georgetown, where she continued to lead a prayerful life, receiving communion, watching daily Mass on EWTN Catholic network and engaging in community activities until her final days.
Known for her generous heart and deep concern for her family, Rosemary's love and protection were a constant source of comfort to her children and grandchildren. Her life, rich with faith and love, will be forever cherished and missed by her family, friends, and all who knew her. Together with her husband, Manuel, Rosemary now rests in peace, in the sure and certain hope of the resurrection.
A funeral mass for Rosemary will be held Monday, April 22, 2024 at 10:30 AM at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, 1705 E Peters Colony Rd, Carrollton, TX 75007. Following the funeral mass will be a committal service at 12:00 PM at Restland Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Ave., Dallas, TX 75243.
