Ronald Seth Coody

Ron was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting, fishing, and camping. He was the first State Farm agent in Carrollton, Tx spending over 43 years in service. He earned trips and won many awards with State Farm and traveled with his wife to over 17 countries. He loved to talk and share stories, especially with his grandchildren. He was a long-standing member and deacon of the Baptist church, sang in the choir, and held various offices in The Gideons International. He had a laugh you could hear across the room that will be greatly missed.

Ron is preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Ottie Faye Coody, and siblings, Walter Paul Coody, Margie Herring, Donnie Coody, and G.H. “Pete” Coody.

Ron is survived by his wife, Jeanette Coody, daughter Julia & Kevin Woods of Sherman, TX, son Ricky and Debbie Coody of Wilburton, OK, daughter Debbie & Mike Del Valle of Farmers Branch, TX, grandchildren Heather Hayes, Christopher (and Michaela) Woods, Thomas Del Valle, Stephen Woods, Bryanne (and Dalton) Hardaway, and Chance Coody, and great-grandchildren Isabella, Derek, Dylan, Kennedy, and Henry.

The family would like to thank River Oaks Assisted Living and Memory Care Center and Brother Gene McBride of Royal Haven Baptist Church.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to The Gideons International.

A visitation will take place on Wednesday, April 19, 2023 at Rhoton Funeral Home 1511 South 1-35E Carrollton, Tx, 75006 from 5:00pm- 8:00pm. The funeral service will take place on Thursday, April 20, 2023 at 10:00am at the funeral home with a committal service to follow at Hilltop Memorial Park located at 1810 N. Perry Rd. Carrollton, Tx, 75006.
