Randy, I am still in shock that you are gone. 
I know your life was difficult after the loss of Carol, your mother and then James David. 
I know you all are together and happy now but selfishly, I am struggling and miss you. 
You made a promise to Carol before she passed to straighten up your life and be a dad to James David. 
Not only did  you keep your promise, you were you an amazing dad. You devoted the remainder of your life to being a grateful, honest and trustworthy man who always kept his word. You never complained about the burdens, work and non-stop stress of the responsibilities you accepted, you wore them as a badge of honor. 
You devoted your life to caring for your sister and brother. You cared for several friends who were terminally ill, took in many a needy soul and never hesitated to drive across town to help anyone that needed you or you thought might.  Whether that was helping with menial holiday chores, climbing on the roof in the rain, fixing the a/c in 100* heat or just a hug and a smile. 
Thank you Randy for enriching my life and teaching so many what unconditional love is in a raw, honest and pure way. 
You are loved and missed

Years back I met Randy at Creekbend Condos.  We had rentals there and I was in the office when Randy came in.  He introduced himself to me and told me he did maintenance on several condos and he would be interested in working for us.  I asked Randy if he had a business card and he said NO.  I suggested he get some and pass them out.  Randy said he did not know how to purchase business cards and if I would get them, then the next time he did work for us he would subtract that expense....so YES I ordered business cards for Randy and we used him for repairs in our condos.  We could count on him showing up which today is a rare trait to find.  We became friends over these years and YES, we will miss him as he was such a wonderful guy to know.
