She married Dario Lopez in Fort Stockton in 1965. Mary and Dario went on to have three children, Monica, Michael and Marcus.
Before retiring, Mary worked various roles to support her children’s education, including working as a phlebotomist. Though a private person, her faith and joy shone with those she spent time with. She traveled abroad to Rome and the Holy Land including Marian Pilgrimage. Mary devoted her life to her family, her friends and her faith. She enjoyed sharing a meal or a phone call with her close friends. Mary enjoyed dancing and listening to Tejano music. Mary was an avid crafter and made her friends and family gifts, including Christmas stockings. She loved to bake and was well known for her famous biscochos, mexican cookies, which so many family and friends enjoyed throughout the years. She was generous in heart and spirit and shared her unconditional love freely. She enjoyed her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a member of St. Joseph and St. Anthony parishes for most of her life.
Mary is preceded in death by her husband Dario Flores Lopez, Carmen and Rafael Gonzales, her sister Frances Zapata, brothers Macardo, Alfred, Rafael (Chito), and Pete Gonzalez.
Mary is survived by her daughter Monica Lopez Cedillo and her husband Gilbert of Lubbock, Texas. They have four children: Lena Lopez, Morena, Paul and Ralph Ramirez; and seven grandchildren. Michael lives in Austin, Texas and Marcus lives in Dallas, Texas with his wife Amy and daughter Fiona. Mary will be greatly missed by all.
