Mary Bell Henderson passed away at Signature Pointe on the Lake in Dallas, Texas on April 12, 2014, after attempting to recover from heart surgery, at the age of 68. Services will be at 11am, Wednesday, April 16, 2014, at Rhoton Funeral Home located at 1511 S. I-35 East, Carrollton, Texas. Graveside services will be at Herrington/ Land of Memories Cemetery located in Palestine, Texas at 2pm, Thursday, April 17, 2014. Mary was born October 7, 1945, to Bradley and Marie Bell, both of whom lived in Palestine all their lives and preceded her in death. Mary graduated from Palestine High School in 1964 and was looking forward to her 50th class reunion being held in April of this year. She attended Nixon Business School before working as a Secretary in the Johnson & Johnson Law Firm in Palestine. She met her husband on a blind date and married him in 1969 and moved to Dallas. Mary became an avid scuba diver and logged over 150 ocean dives around the world as well as traveling and cruising to many different countries. Her main interest was her love of flowers and plants together with her yard. She also loved riding and showing Tennessee Walking Horses for many years and was the winner of the Amateur Owned and Trained Division at the 54th Annual Tennessee Walking Horse Celebration in 1992 at Shelbyville, Tennessee. She was preceded in death by her parents as well as her only brother Charles Bell, who was married to Peggy Skains, both of Palestine, who is also deceased. Survivors include her husband, Robert (Bob) W. Henderson, a 1946 Palestine High School graduate, and a daughter Lisa Wolgamott and husband Michael Wolgamott, living in McKinney, Texas and two grandchildren, Bradley Wolgamott and Tyler Wolgamott, and a step daughter Dr. Kathy Church, married to Dr. Fred Church, living in Little Rock, Arkansas and two grandchildren Katie Church and Daniel Church also of Little Rock. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, Cartmell Home for Aged, 2212 W. Reagan St., Palestine or any charity of your choice.
