On a pretty fall day in the mountains of Provo, Utah, a beautiful baby girl was birthed to William and Sally Moala. The first of five children, angel Lisia's arrival into this world was on September 2nd, 1974. She was two weeks late so she could come into this world with her lifetime bestie, Niki.
Lisia was born with a big golden heart and nurturing skills, responsible and mature.
At 8 years old, her family moved to Texas, where she lived the rest of her life. At that same ripe age, she mothered her younger two brothers and two sisters while their mom went through a long bout of cancer. Lisia was blessed with a sweet soul, loved unconditionally, a loyal friend, selfless and patient, beautiful inside and out, compassionate, kind, funny, witty, the voice of reason, always had common sense and the best listening ear.
To know Sia is to love her. She had a beautiful captivating smile and has been called a ray of sunshine by many. She loved games and movies. Her greatest joy and passion in life was serving her family. Family was everything to her. Affectionately known as CinderSia, since childhood, she always did everything asked of her with never a complaint. Throughout life, Sia devoted herself to her family. She loved to spoil her nieces and nephews and was like a mother to them. Cousins, aunts and uncles were dear to her heart. As an expression of love to her parents, she arranged and executed a home renovation for them while they went to Brazil to pick up her youngest sister, Janella, from her mission in Brazil. She could hardly wait to surprise them!
Lisia attended Rosemeade Elementary, Blalack Jr. High, and Newman Smith High School. She liked crafts and sports. A great athlete, she played junior high and high school basketball and threw shot put. After Lisia graduated from Newman Smith High school in 1992, she pursued a college degree at BYU-Hawaii. Sia adored Hawaii and loved swimming at the beach. Being away from home for the first time, she became homesick and so returned to finish her bachelor's of Sociology at UNT. Sia found her next bestie, Stacy, while working at the Rosemeade Recreation Center.
She later went to work for her father’s family business. Lisia loved working with her father and brothers and often said she wouldn’t trade it for anything. In 2021, she obtained her MBA from Purdue University, which was fitting, as Lisia was the brains of the business.
Lisia lived across the alley from her parents. She was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints who always encouraged others and led by her shining and humble example. She was always thankful for the little things. Lisia loved the Primary songs and teaching little children and even served in scouts. She had such fun spending about 15 summers at girl's camp, often with her sidekick Connie Davis.
Lisia loved the human touch of massages from her nieces. Some of her first words in the ER were, "Do these beds massage?"
Our sweet Sia graduated to a better life in her heavenly home with her grandparents, John and Sarah Meyers and Sione and Ofa Moala, her uncles Robert Meyers and Larry Holloway, and her cousin Martin Meyers. She is survived by her parents, Willie and Sally, and her siblings, Megan, John, Jared, and Janella, as well as her nieces and nephews, Sydney, Alex, Sara, Kate, Lizzie, Taylor, Seth, Melo, Tasha, Bryce, Jared, Brooke, Mikey, Jordan, and Mariah.
The viewing will be held Saturday, April 27th at 11am and the funeral at 12pm at the Carrollton Stake Center at 4000 Nazarene Dr, Carrollton, TX 75010. Her burial will be at 1pm the following Wednesday, May 1st, at the Buhl Cemetery in Buhl, ID.
