Junice D. Valenta, 90, of Dallas, Texas passed away peacefully at her residence at River Oaks Assisted Living in the company of her husband and two sons, on Thursday, November 19, 2020; after a fight with lung cancer.
Junice was born August 10th 1930 in San Antonio, Texas to Parents WB and Rasco Stewart. She graduated from Edison High School in San Antonio with the class of 1948. She wanted to learn to fly so she took flying lessons and went as far as a solo flight without an instructor.
On August 25, 1951 she married to Tim Valenta and they enjoyed a wonderful and long marriage of 69 years. During her career she worked as a secretary for a bank and office assistant for an insurance company. She loved taking classes in Business at Brookhaven College and had a GPA of 3.81. She cherished vacations with her family and was also able to travel abroad with her husband. After her husband retired she spent a lot of time at their ranch, often with her 3 children and her grandchildren. She enjoyed their two horses but mostly liked to take her dog along and go for walks around the property. She had a special fondness for each of her dogs and took great joy caring for them.
Junice was a parishioner of Mary Immaculate Church for over 50 years and helped with many of the programs there as well as being in the Ladies Auxiliary. She was a fantastic cook and enjoyed making large holiday meals and delicious deserts for family gatherings. Her specialties were turkey and dressing, enchiladas and tacos, fried chicken, and lemon meringue pie. She also had a passion for reading novels.
Junice was preceded in death by her parents: WB and Rasco Stewart, and daughter: Nancy Valenta.
She is survived by the love of her life, her husband: Tim Valenta and their two sons: Tim Valenta, Jr and wife Joan of Coppell, and Ken Valenta of Dallas. She has 7 wonderful grandchildren and 8 wonderful great grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by them all.
