Gil was born on January 16th, 1958 in Dallas, Texas. He went to St. Monica Catholic School, Thomas Jefferson High School, and graduated from the University of Texas at Dallas. Growing up he excelled in soccer. His education led him to his professional career at JCPenney and General Electric. He reached all his career goals when he was finally able to work at a golf course and drive the cart that collected the balls at the driving range.
There wasn’t a place that Gil went where he didn’t have friends. You either liked him or disliked him quickly and there was no in between. Gil loved nothing more than drinking a cold Miller Lite on a patio while enjoying the sunshine and good company. He was known for his quick sense of humor and his ability to keep people laughing even though life’s hardest moments.
Gil’s happy places included the golf course, the casino, behind the BBQ, the Bumper Club in Sherman, or just in the car with the windows down and The Drifters or Buddy Holly on the radio.
Gil is survived by his loving partner, Judy, his daughters, Krystal and Natalie [Ashley], his grandchildren, Jaden, Ezri, Amias, Nolie, Quill, Lexi, Lily, and Brody, his mother, Carolyn, sisters, Linda and Jeannie, brother, Rey [Cynthia], Judy’s children, Patrick [Cortney] and Gail, and the mother of his daughters, Donna.
Join us to celebrate Gil’s life with a cold Miller Lite at The Wing’d Nut in Richardson, Texas (720 E Campbell Rd.) on Thursday April 4th at 2pm.
In lieu of flowers, buy a stranger a beer and treat yourself to a scratch off.
