Joan Lorraine Shackelford Rockey

Joan Lorraine Rockey, 80, of Rockwall, passed away Monday morning, April 29, 2013 at the Rockwall Nursing Home in Rockwall, Texas. She was born on March 22, 1933 in Calera, Oklahoma to Floyd Shackelford and Allie Brown, who have preceded her in death. Also preceding her in death was her older sister, Irene Kelly Anthony.

Joan is survived by her five (5) children Bobby Allen, Tony Allen, Ricky Allen and his wife Debbie, Donny Allen, and Diane Parrish and her husband Alan, all of Caddo Mills, Texas. Also surviving three (3) sisters Flora Mae Scott of Kemp, Texas, Dee Hosier, Louise Taylor and one brother Eugene Shackelford all of Oklahoma. She has many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

She enjoyed time with her family, looked forward to traveling with her sisters and the annual Shackelford family reunion each year in Oklahoma.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, May 3, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at the Cornerstone Fellowship Baptist Church, 4183 FM 36 S, Caddo Mills, Texas 75135. The burial will be a private service for the immediate family.
