Jason grew up in Pasadena, Texas. He graduated from Deer Park High School in 1995 and received a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from University of Houston - Clear Lake in 2000. He struggled with trying to break into the IT industry and ultimately took a job in retail while he searched for something in his field. Eight years later, he was still not using his degree and had all but given up when he met the love of his life who would motivate him to realize his potential.
In July 2008, he received a message through Myspace from Julie, an old girlfriend whom he had briefly dated in high school. She was coming back into town for her high school reunion and wanted to catch up. They quickly fell in love, and in April 2009 Jason left everything behind and moved to Dallas to be with her. They were married on February 12, 2011 in a small ceremony in Houston, but continued building their lives together in the Dallas area and purchased their Carrollton home in April 2011. Since his arrival in Dallas, Jason’s IT career soared. At the time of his death, he was working as a Senior Linux Administrator at Armor, a cloud security company, and had become the go-to guy for resolving the most difficult issues.
Besides being a tech guru, Jason was also an avid Star Wars fan and somehow convinced Julie to name their two children after references to the films. Their daughter Eisley was born in 2013, and son Lucas was born in 2016.
Jason and Julie were weeks away from closing on a new home. They were planning his 40th birthday vacation and teaching the baby how to roll over. His life was far too short. He will be deeply missed.
