

Janice Louise Palmer, 88, of Farmers Branch, Texas passed away peacefully on December 31, 2023 at 10:05 p.m. at the T. Boone Pickens Hospice and Palliative Care Center in Dallas, Texas surrounded by loved ones. She was born on June 9, 1935 in Keokuk, Iowa.
She was preceded in death by her parents Miles and Thelma Alton and her life partner, Milo Schrader whom she missed greatly.
She is survived by her daughter, Cheryl Nabors and husband, Bill of Anna, Texas, her son, Buck Schrader and wife, Meloni of Tuscola, Texas, her cousin by marriage and great friend, Cindy Buck of Carrollton, Texas, and many nieces and nephews.
She was blessed with four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Janice graduated from Burlington High School in Burlington, Iowa in 1953 where she loved playing in marching band. In 1960 she and her then husband moved to Farmers Branch, Texas where she lived in her beloved home for over 62 years.
She was a stay-at-home working mom for many years and found great joy in her children. She then worked and retired from Texas State Optical. Janice's great passion in life was her family but bingo and all the friendships that she made through the years was a close second.
She was a great listener, funny and loyal. She is greatly missed.

A memorial service for Janice will be held Saturday, January 27, 2024 at 1:00 PM at Metrocrest Funeral Home, 1810 N Perry Rd, Carrollton, Texas 75006.
