Don was one of two children, born June 12, 1940, in Gorman, TX, to his parents Edgar and Eltie (Otwell) Crockett. He spent his childhood at the farm in Stephenville, TX. Don met Doris Goldsmith at a Sunday school party, where Don’s uncle was the pastor. They united in marriage on June 24, 1961 in Gainesville, TX and moved to Farmers Branch, TX where they started their family and raised three sons. Don worked for 28 years at Affiliated Foods and retired from Hilite as a machinist. He had a love for antique tractors, overalls, and anything John Deere. Together with his wife they enjoyed camping, attending motorcycle races, participating in craft shows and early morning breakfast. Most of all Don enjoyed spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife, Doris; sons, Jeffrey (Sherry VanCleave) Crockett, Lewisville, TX; William (Wendy Winder) Crockett, Denton, TX; and James “Chris” (Renae Thies) Crockett, Cedar Falls, IA. His grandchildren, Brittany, Briana, Devin and Mikala Crockett. In addition, he is survived by his brother, Alton “Dane” Laudane (Nelda Ables) Crockett, Stephenville, TX, along with nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edgar Alton and Eltie Ina Crockett and granddaughter Sara Michelle Crockett.
