Floyd Gray, 94, peacefully went to be with our Lord on March 5, 2011. Born in 1916 in Red River County, Texas to Crawford and Lillian Gray he was a lifetime resident of Texas. Floyd married the love of his life Rachel Margaret Cato on July 11, 1941 and they spent the majority of their life in the Dallas area.
Floyd is survived by his wife of almost 70 years, Rachel; son Billy Gray; seven grandchildren; and fifteen great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son Jimmy Dean Gray; a daughter Carolyn Sue Grant; and a granddaughter Kimberly Sue Grant.
Floyd had a passion for the great outdoors enjoying fishing, camping, cooking out, and admiring nature. He was known for his infectious smile, flat top haircut, cheerful attitude and had a love for life. Being a wonderful kind and generous person he was always looking for the good in people, holding a positive attitude, and serving as an encourager to others making him a friend to everyone. Floyd was greatly loved, admired and respected by his family and friends, and all who knew him.
