Butch was born in Cleveland, Ohio to Margaret Mildred Cavanagh and Gerald Francis Cavanagh.
In his early years, he attended Gesu Grade School and graduated high school at St. Ignatius High School in Cleveland, OH. He was accepted into John Carroll University, where he received his Bachelors.
Edward enlisted in the United States Army in 1968. During his service, he received the National Defense Medal and was honorably discharged.
After serving our country, Edward continued to serve, whether it was his family, his church or his business.
He enjoyed spending time with his loving family and also enjoyed being a part of his church choir.
Edward is preceded in death by his parents, Gerald Francis and Margaret Mildred Cavanagh; and his brother, Father Gerald Francis Cavanagh, SJ, who passed away six months ago.
Edward is survived by his wife, Micheaux Cavanagh; his sister, Mary Angela Lewis; his son, SSG Gerald Francis Cavanagh; his daughter, Catherine Cavanagh Smith; his son, CPT Edward Albert Cavanagh and seven grandchildren.
A memorial service for Edward will be held at St. Rita Catholic Community,12521 Inwood Rd, Dallas, TX 75244, Monday, June 12th, 2023 at 10:30 AM.
