Bobby Gene Byrum, 78, of Farmers Branch, TX, went to be with the Lord on March 10, 2012. He was born on March 26, 1933, in Emory TX, the son of the late Thomas and Louise Byrum. He was the sixth of seven siblings. The family relocated to Dallas, TX when he was a small child. On November 19, 1955 he married Betty Jean Byrum, who survives.
He graduated with a Masters degree from Stephen F. Austin University. He served in the U.S. Army for two years. After his discharge he was employed by the Dallas Independent School District, as math teacher and coach. He retired as Assistant Principal of Pinkston High School in the mid-1980s. He operated a real estate business afterward, and was a member of the Masons.
He is survived by his two daughters and sons-in-law, Shelly and Cary Daniels of Lake Dallas, TX, and Shannon and Michael Keuer of Corinth, TX, as well as grandchildren Cary S. Daniels, 22, of Lake Dallas, TX, Bridget Carlson, 32, of Ft. Lee, VA, and Garrett and Samantha Keuer, 12 and 10, of Corinth, TX.
Mr. Byrum was preceded in death by his siblings Lewis, Pat, Ray, Johnnie, Gladys and Juanita. He was a kind, strong and generous man, and loved the outdoors, his family and friends, who will all miss him dearly.
