Alma Rosa was born in Torreon Coahuila, Mexico, on December 16, 1951, and grew up in Ciudad Acuna before moving to Texas. She was retired, but previously worked as a Salad Pantry Chef for over 40 years, making beautiful arrangements from her heart. A strong believer in Christ, she enjoyed spending time with her grandkids, eating oysters, going to the beach, visiting the country, gardening, doing search-a-word puzzles, and playing with her dogs.
Alma Rosa is survived by her husband, Martin De Santiago; her son, Ramiro O. Salais and daughter-in-law, Galena Salais; grandchildren, Marisa Salais, Brandon Salais and Joshua Salais; sisters, Dora Pena, Susy Zurita, Patty Hernandez, Teresa Imelda Rodriguez, and Mary Rodriguez; brother, Cruz Rodriguez; her nephew, Tito Pena, whom she loved like a brother; and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews. She is preceded in death by her father and mother, Donaciano Rodriguez and Maria Esther Martinez Rodriguez.
She was a strong support of the Humane Society and St. Jude’s Children Hospital.
Funeral Services and visitation are as follows: Visitation held Sunday, December 29, 2019, from 11:00-2:00 (rosary service from 1:30-2:00); funeral service at 10:00 a.m,. Monday, December 30, 2019; burial to follow approximately 11:00 a.m. at Hilltop Cemetery by Metrocrest. The visitation and funeral service will be at Metrocrest Funeral Home, 1810 N. Perry Road, Carrollton, Texas 75006.
