William L. Evans

William L. Evans, age 90, of Carmel, Indiana passed away on Sunday, July 14, 2024. William was born in Indianapolis, Indiana to George and Mayme Evans. He was a graduate of Tech High School class of 1951 and attended Butler University. He served in the US Navy during the Korean War. William worked at Indiana Bell/Ameritech for 36 years and United Way of Central Indiana for 5 years. He was a Lay Missionary of Charity of Mother Theresa. He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Mayme Evans, sisters Betty Marshall, Frances Stubbs, Marteen Burlingham, brother Floyd (Kenneth) Evans and son-in-law Paul Henkel. William is survived by his wife, Lois (Pranger) Evans; his children Gregory Evans (Jo); Bradley Evans (Maria); Marilee Cech (John); Julie Henkel (Paul), 8 granddaughters and 8 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held Thursday, July 18, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church, 14598 Oak Ridge Rd., Carmel, Indiana 46032, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00 PM. Graveside services will be held at Our Lady of Peace Cemetery.
