Robert L. Peters

Robert L. Peters, age 82, of Carmel, Indiana passed away on Tuesday, October 26, 2021. Bob was born August 18, 1939 in Cincinnati, Ohio to the late Robert A. and Marcella (nee Mack) Peters. He was a proud graduate of Elder High School in Price Hill and later earned his degree in engineering from the University of Cincinnati in 1962. On July 28, 1962, Bob married Carolyn L. Striet at St. Catharine of Sienna Catholic Church in Cincinnati, Ohio. Bob worked as a sales engineer for W.R. Grace Concrete Products for over 30 years. While working at W.R Grace, he earned many awards and accolades including the Sales Master Award and the Vision Award. In 1994 he became a member of the Million Dollar Club. He was a member of Indiana Ready Mixed Concrete Association (IRMCA) where he served as chairman of the Certification Committee. Bob also belonged to the Indiana Chapter of the American Concrete Institute (ACI) and served on the Technical Committee. Bob was a kind and gentle soul who always put his faith and family first in his life. He was a former member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church where he volunteered as an usher and director and teacher of CCD. He was a current member of St. Elizabeth Seton Catholic Church and a member of the Knights of Columbus. Bob was also a former Scoutmaster with Boy Scouts of America and soccer coach with Carmel Dad’s Club. He was preceded in death by his dear sister, Janet M. Gramza. Bob is survived by loving wife of 59 years, Carolyn L. (nee Striet) Peters; devoted children, Joseph R. (Terri) Peters, Cheryl L. (Jorge) Granados, Cynthia (Wade) Markus and Christine M. (Doug) Jones; his beloved grandchildren, Janelle Peters, Maria (Josh) Abdoo, Michelle Peters, Catherine Peters, Elizabeth Jones, Aaron Markus, Sarah Jones and Greg Jones; dear sister, Elaine M. Binder and a host of extended family and longtime friends. A memorial visitation for Bob will be held Thursday, November 4, 2021 from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 10655 Haverstick Road, Carmel, IN 46033, followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 AM.
