Robert “Bob” John Giczewski of Westfield, Indiana passed away on April 13th, 2025 at the age of 90. He was born in Chicago, IL on October 20, 1934 to Valerian and Bernice (Godfryd) Giczewski. Bob married his bride, Mary Keating on August 12, 1961 and they were married for 63 years. Bob served in the US Army Reserves as a young man for a number of years. He earned his MBA from the University of Chicago in 1956 and began a 30 year career in purchasing and sales with Western Electric (AT&T). After a 30 year career, he retired and enjoyed various other shorter term employment pursuits of his choosing. Also in retirement, Bob and Mary enjoyed numerous trips around the world including China, Australia, Eastern Europe, and more. They also enjoyed the beauty of our country in their travels including Alaska and Hawaii.
Bob’s highest priority and joy was his family and he and Mary had four children who survive him:
Susan (Richard) Allen, James (Maria) Giczewski, Linda (Mike) Sachs and Karen (Kevin) Woods. Being a “Papa” to 13 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren was an absolute joy to him. Stacia (Caleb) with their two sons Brantley and Wesley, Lucas, Lance, Wade, Elise, Mariah (Tyler) with their son Everett, Zachary (Jessica) with their two sons Maverik and Maddox, Brandon, Ben, Eric, Mary Catherine, Grace and Emma will all miss their Grandpa/Papa tremendously.
Bob was faithful to his Lord Jesus Christ and served his church, Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church well as a Eucharistic Minister, member of the Knights of Columbus, fish fry event manager and served on the Adoration team with a regular weekly prayer appointment with his Lord at the church prayer chapel.
In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his two siblings, Valerian and Mary Anna. His brother Felix (Donna) survives him.
The celebration of his life will be on Wednesday, April 16th at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church, 14598 Oak Ridge Rd. Carmel, IN 46032. Visitation will be from 9-11am followed by the funeral mass at 11am. Interment will be at Our Lady of Peace Cemetery in Indianapolis.
