It is a huge loss, for sure, because he was one of the best bosses one can have: He was such a great gentleman! He was my mentor in many aspects of my career, and he was always available to help when I needed. 
I am certain he has become light, and his legacy will remain in this world for many, many years.

I want to share some words about your father that you probably have heard countless times before.  I first met your father while seated in an auditorium audience at Allison Transmission in the early 2000's.  There are not to many speakers who can lift people up and motivate them to want to run through a wall.  Your father was one of those people.  He was tough, inspiring, motivational and his winning spirit was contagious.    Bob had a great sense of humor and was full of one liners  that always brought a smile to my face.  Over the years after leaving Allison, your father's memory had come to me often as he was supportive of me in so many ways and strengthened my belief in myself.  Today more than ever before, this world and our country in particular could use a few more Bob Gaspers to aright the ship.   Be very proud.

Bob and Karin welcomed everyone into their home and yet always made us feel like family. There was no request too big and or too wild they wouldn’t help with, we count ourselves lucky to have been neighbors for over a decade. 
Bob was always an avid storyteller, taking us on a journey overseas or trip down memory lane all in the comfort of his driveway or gazebo on a sunny afternoon. We will certainly miss our dear neighbor, Bob, but know he is finally dancing away with his love, Karin.

Your father was such an inspiration in my life —I’ll never forget the valuable lessons he taught me and the selfless support he provided to me. I had the fortune to work with him as his admin assistant in Shanghai from 2006 to 2008. As a new college graduate who had never been abroad and spoke broken English, I was consumed by both perpetual self-doubt and confused aspirations. Bob encouraged me to constantly learn, grow and explore the outside world. He taught me how to think critically, have a backbone, and establish myself at work and build my brand- not as an admin assistant, but as someone GREAT. Thanks to his coaching, I was promoted to a global strategic buyer at GM and received a scholarship from a top 10 business school in the US. 

Over the past two decades, Bob had always been a trusted mentor, friend, and confidant. His relentless drive for excellence, compassion to care for the neediest, and open-mindedness and respect for everyone- rich or poor, white or black, conservative or progressive, have inspired me, and I am sure, many others, profoundly. And that's his legacy. 

Nothing I can say will take away the pain you’re experiencing. Just want you to know that I care about you and your family. And Bob's legacy will endure.

First and foremost he was a loving, caring and supportive husband to our sister Karin,  who was so blest to have him as her husband!  He was "our rock" !  We clung to him knowing that Karin was always in the best hands and getting the best of care at all times and for this we will be eternally grateful and he knew through word and deed how much we loved and appreciated having him as our Brother-In-Law!
     He was a brilliant man,  but ever so humble and kind, never looking for any kind of praise  or thank you from others.  In his own eyes he was just doing his job, no matter what or where that may have taken him!  Bob, you have left your handprint on so many hearts in life and some big shoes to fill!  We promise to do our best by following your example of staying positive, being kind and selfless and ending each encounter with a "good laugh"!  We will love you and miss you forever! I had the privilege of working with Bob for several years and there was no better professional and mentor. I first met Bob years ago when he was a GM Executive who visited a facility i worked at that was struggling. Bob came in with such a positive attitude and desire to help us succeed, his presence  and support was felt by everyone from the shop floor employee to the management group. He made a point to make everyone feel like they are valued. Years later as he joined our company in a fulltime Supplier Quality Role. Bob's experience and his methods taught us to be better professionals and better people. I'll miss our travels when we would share an occasional drink, Scotch of course. I never had the courage to tell him i hated it... but he knew it, and made me drink it anyway... :).  I will miss Bob, he was a good friend to me. RIP

Mr. Gasper was a trustworthy, loyal & honorable man who cannot be replaced. I will never forget all the kindness and understanding that Bob and his wife Karin gave me when I first met them at the age of 20, after I began dating his eldest son Brian Gasper. Although I already had two young children (Shelby & Jared) when met, Bob & Karin treated my children as though they were their grandchildren from the start. You couldn’t ask for a more upstanding gentleman. I will never forget Bob taking me to a few Dr. appointments when I was far along in my pregnancy with his first grandchild Dayton Gasper. Also I will never forget how proud Bob was when he first saw Dayton, and the jokes that he cracked about what Dayton had inherited from him. Bob & Karin also paid hospital visits for his other two grandchildren Brian & I had (Graycie & Brody Gasper) of whom he was equally proud. Bob was a superhero in my eyes, and there was no problem the man couldn’t solve. He had such a powerful, comfortable presence and he made friends everywhere he went. Bob had such a contagious laugh, and he could find the humor in almost anything. The world is a gloomier place without him, and it still seems unbelievable that he & Karin are both gone, but I know wherever they are, they are together again. I send my condolences to Bob’s sons Brian Gasper & Robert Gasper, Bob’s family & friends and to his ex-wife and mother of his sons Judy Spadafore. It was an honor for me to have known Bob, I just wish I had taken the time and told him how grateful I was for all the love and support that he and his wife Karin had given me throughout the years. They don’t make men like Bob Gasper anymore, he was one in a million.   

I am shocked to hear about Bob's passing. I met Bob in 2002 when he came to Allison Transmission to run our Supplier Quality Department. I was Head of Purchasing at that point. He and Karin both embraced my family - I have wonderful memories of going over to their place and my kids running their remote control boat on the lake behind their house. 

Bob taught me so much about supplier quality and suppliers. He was a huge part of transforming the Allison Supplier base to one of the very best at GM. 

Bob was also committed to developing his team - he was a true leader. 

He was also a character - I don't think a week went by without him saying something that made me wince! We lost track when he retired from GM. 

My deepest condolences to all of his extended family members. He made a difference. He will be missed deeply. 

We will all cherish & remember you forever, I’ll carry all the memories we made in my heart, and never forget. I love you grandpa, I’m glad we got to get closer by phone calls & FaceTimes, these past few years, before your time and job on this earth was done, if distance wasn’t a thing, I would’ve been there everyday. There’s many things I wish we had done, or talked about, but I’m great full to at least know who my grandfather was. I know your listening, I’ll still update you whenever I make accomplishments, and when something exciting happens or even if I hit a bump in the road, I’ll always let you know how I feel. Till I see you again❤️

Bob, may you rest in peace with your beautiful wife Karin. You have been the best Father and Grandfather anyone could ask for. So many times I have looked back at your journey and reveled in what you have accomplished. You have touched everyone with your humor, intelligence and commitment. I know my life is better because I met you. I thank you and pray for your Blessed journey into Heaven. So many Dear family members await you in Heaven and Karin waits with open arms. So long Dear Friend please know you will be missed by so many.

My Grandpa has always loved cars I remember riding in his Corvette and just remembering how at that moment I loved cars as much as him so much that he took me to my first Indy race and bonded over the Chevys cars flying by saying how they were the fastest. We watched movies and shared alot of laughter of the things we thought were funny like the avengers and Jon pinette. He has done so much for everyone and for me and my brothers and sisters he left huge shoes to fill. I love you grandpa I know your up there with grandma burning the tires off your vette.

My brother Bob will always be remembered for his quick wit and generous soul.  He lived life to the full everyday. Should've known he would not stay long without his beloved Karin.  He will be sorely missed. Rest in the peace of Christ, with much love.

Bob hired me after being let go from another manufacturing firm.  He was a direct no-nonsense guy that pushed you beyond your limits-forcing you to see your potential.  He also was a great social instrument, as many of you may be aware, if you attended his parties or attended parties with him.  I will miss Bob's wit and laughter.  His legacy will live on through our fond memories of him.  Rest in peace, my friend.  

Bob was a great neighbor.  He was always willing to pick up a package or take in a trash bin when we were out of town.  Talking was something Bob was always ready and willing to engage in.  We often talked about our dogs.  I think a man's dog can show you a lot about the man and Duncan and Morty certainly showed the character of their master.  We will all miss the talks, the driveway fire pit nights, the friend and most of all the laughs.
