Nancy Gray, 84, of Carmel, passed away on March 18, 2025. She was born in Pittsburgh, PA to the late Louis and Mary (Harris) Fields. She led such a cheerful life where she would make friends everywhere she went. Family was so important to her. She would always tell us she had the best day when everyone got together. Her love for animals was admirable as she would take care of any stray cat that would visit her back yard. She will always be remembered for her generosity, her love for others, and of course, her weekly trip to the hair salon.
Nancy became the owner of Gray’s Automotive after her husband of 48 years, Donald W. Gray (the love of her life) passed away. She continued to work there until the end. Nancy became a pretty avid traveler later in life. Her favorite destinations were Seattle, Washington and Sanibel Island, Florida. She also loved going on cruises with her family.
Nancy is survived by her sons, Steve (Deanna), Bryan (Kim), Brad, and daughter, Shelley (Monte) Fundenberger. She will be greatly missed by her six grandkids whom she absolutely adored: Max and Maggie (Steve and Deanna), Kyle (Cathryn) and Dylan (Bryan and Kim), and Nathan and Rylie (Shelley and Monte), as well as her Great-granddaughter, Magnolia. In addition, she is also survived by her two sisters, Barbara Rak and Mary Lou Payne, as well as nieces Ellen Bradford and Sally Springer. She is also survived by family friend, John Darlington. Words cannot begin to describe how much Nancy is going to be missed. Our great solace is knowing she has been reunited with her husband, parents, and her Aunt Relta.
A memorial gathering for Nancy will be held Saturday, March 29, 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Leppert Mortuary– Carmel Chapel, 900 N. Rangeline Rd., Carmel, Indiana 46032.
