When Jim was younger, he enjoyed the ocean, lakes and woods, sometimes aiming at animals hiding in them. His first magazine subscription was Ranger Rick, and animals, especially his dogs, continued to bring him joy as an adult. He was passionate about the Cleveland Browns. When that Super Bowl comes Jimmy, we know you will be cheering the loudest. At least you could always wear your Buckeyes hat with pride.
Family was his true love. He was fiercely loyal to them, and was always there for them when it mattered most. His cousins were lifelong friends, especially Lisa Crawford and Christopher Calo. He loved his nieces and nephews as he would his own children, and that love was returned in kind.
Life was not always easy for Jim, and Jim did not always make life easy. He overcame many obstacles that would take the average person down. He could be wickedly funny, even in difficult times, and his smile will never be forgotten by his friends and family.
Jim is survived by his devoted mother, Diana, his brothers Matthew (Ginger), and Andrew (Laura), his nieces and nephews, Elena, Fiona, Dominica, Thomas, and Felix, uncles, aunts and many loving cousins. Passing away before Jim were his father James, aunt JoAnne Calo and his grandparents.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider donations to St. Vincent de Paul and the Humane Society. A celebration of life will be held at 2:00 pm on August 12 at Leppert Mortuary, 900 N. Rangeline Road, Carmel, Indiana, with refreshments to follow.
