James F. "Jim" Carson
March 21, 1948 – November 23, 2023
IN THE CARE OF
Leppert Mortuaries – Carmel
James F. “Jim” Carson,
75, of Carmel, departed this life Thanksgiving Day, November 23, 2023. Jim was born March 21, 1948 in Lebanon, Indiana to the late Noel James and Myrtle May (Stumm) Carson. He had worked for the Indiana Department of Transportation, Hamilton County Roads, Development and Infrastructure, Carmel Clay Schools and last at Biggen Dump Truck Company retiring in 2010.
Jim was a kind and gentle soul who had a great sense of humor. He loved the outdoors, mowing his lawn, sitting in his garage while watching and feeding the squirrels and other wildlife. He was a former member of the Masonic Hamilton Lodge No. 533. He enjoyed simple things and always had a good outlook on life. He loved camping and meeting new friends in campgrounds, spoiling his cats and sharing a good story. He also enjoyed making beaded banners and was always good with his hands. Jim was happiest, though, loving his beloved wife of 47 years, Judy (McMahan) Carson who described Jim as “her hero, the love of her life…”
Jim was preceded in death by his siblings, Glen, Jack, Kay and Athal, and brother-in-law, John Croda.
He is survived by his wife; a daughter; sister, Ruthann Croda and mother-in-law, Mary McMahan and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation for Jim will be held at 11:00am to 1:00pm on Thursday, November 30th at Leppert Mortuary – Carmel Chapel followed by service at 1:00pm. Interment follows at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens.
Memorial contributions in Jim’s name are suggested to Shriner’s Hospital for Children.
