Harry E. Bowman

89, of Carmel, departed this life the morning of Monday, September 30, 2019 at his home. He was born April 26, 1930 in Pine Village, IN. He graduated from Purdue University with a degree in engineering. He owned and operated an acoustic ceiling business for many years.

He was a member of VFW Post #7119 at Fort Harrison, Carmel Masonic Lodge #421 F&AM and was a Murat Shriner.

Harry was a kind and gentle soul who was happiest making memories with family and friends.

He is survived by his dear wife of 67 years, Barbara Jean (Hedges) Bowman; his children, Teresa Snodgrass, Lawrence Bowman, Gerald Bowman, Cathy Bowman and Nanette Adduci; 12 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren (with another on his way).

Harry was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Madeline Bowman; brothers, Billy Joe Bowman and Freddie Hazelgrowth; sons, Michael and Glen Bowman and grandchildren, Barbara Jean, Jeremy and Jennifer.

Visitation for Harry will be from 4 – 8 pm on Thursday, October 3rd at Leppert Mortuary – Smith Carmel Chapel. Funeral services will begin at 10:00 am on Friday, October 4th at the mortuary followed by burial at Carmel Cemetery.
