Gerry Dwyer

Gerald Lee Dwyer, age 72, of Carmel, Indiana went home to his Lord on Friday, June 7, 2024 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born October 24, 1951 in Bloomington, Illinois to the late Edward & Evelyn (Yeagle) Dwyer. On June 17, 1972 he married Pamela Suchomel at Saint Louise de Marillac Catholic Church in La Grange Park, Illinois. Gerry was a kind and gentle soul who always put his faith and family above all else. He had worked as an agronomist for Dow Chemical – Corteva Agriscience for over 47 years, retiring in 2019. Gerry was a longtime and dedicated member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church where he participated as a Eucharistic Minister and was a familiar face at Bible study. He was also an active member of the church’s council # 11044 of the Knights of Columbus, obtaining Fourth Degree. Gerry had traveled the world with his job and also loved to travel for fun and adventure. He appreciated learning about different cultures and rarely passed on an opportunity to take a cruise. When at home, he loved to “cruise” around Carmel in his 1969 Dodge Super Bee. He enjoyed going to a casino on occasion, and was a natural mechanic, gardener, jokester and lover of nature. Gerry was happiest though, making meaningful memories with his tight knit, lovable family. He loved spoiling his grandchildren and enjoyed supporting them in all of their endeavors. Gerry is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Pamela Dwyer, devoted children, Michelle (Jon) Krueger, Mary (Daniel) Kopp, Kevin Dwyer, Laura (Merritt) Kinon and David (Cara Vock) Dwyer; grateful grandchildren, Quinn, Rowan & Gavin Krueger, Scarlett & Ivory Kopp, and Peyton & Avi Kinon; dear siblings, William, Martin, Virginia, Deanna, Marjorie, Patrick, Dennis & Teresa, as well as a host of dear friends, and his loving dog, Indy. A Recitation of the Rosary for Gerry will be held Wednesday, June 12, 2024 at 10:00 AM at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church, 14598 Oak Ridge Rd., Carmel, Indiana 46032, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 AM. Gerry will be laid to rest in Our Lady of Peace Cemetery, 9001 Haverstick Rd., Indianapolis, IN 46240. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Gerry's memory may be made to Merciful H.E.L.P.
