He was born in Chicago, Illinois on September 5, 1925. Wally attended Manierre Grade School and Washburn Trade school in Chicago. Wally was married to Fran Martin on February 18, 1955 and to Madelyn Martin on June 25th 2008.
Wally worked and managed Sheet Metal Fabrication Sheet Metal Workers’ Local Union No 73 for over forty years. He had a passion building bird and doll houses and was a gifted painter creating beautiful scenic paintings. He was great with his hands and detail oriented as a woodworker, handyman and craftsman. He was a loving, Christian husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle and dear friend to many.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Madelyn Martin; children, Tom Venn, Janet Martin, Walter Vincent Martin Jr.; step children, Timothy Smith, Rosalyn Lesch, Karen O’Connor, and Pam Schnedier; grandchildren; Steve Walter Venn, Melissa Ann Meeks, Jennifer Cason, Megan Simon, Deanna Martin; sister Betty Jane Turner.
Wally is preceded in death by his siblings, Ernest Martin, Ruth Himber, Rita Johnston, Estelle Wernet.
Memorial Services will begin at 2:00pm on Tuesday, January 26th at Coral Ridge Funeral Home, 950 Chiquita Blvd S, Cape Coral. The services will also stream live on the funeral home facebook page, Facebook.com/CoralRidgeFuneral.
