Richard Eugene Smith Jr., 74, of Bokeelia, Florida passed away peacefully in the home he shared with his life partner Eileen Moceri and her son Joseph on Thursday, April 10, 2025. Richard was born in St. Charles, Illinois and grew up in Wheaton, Illinois.
Richard was a Vietnam Army veteran who loved working on old cars and building and riding motorcycles.
He is survived by his children Michael Smith and Jaclyn Rutkowski; 3 grandsons Ricky Smith, Andrew and Matthew Rutkowski. He is 2nd of 7 siblings survived by Ellen Nelson, Jane Denniger (Patrick), David Smith (Pat), MaryJo, Don Smith (Donna), and Debi Zieche (Ron).
A visitation for Richard will be held Tuesday, April 22nd from 2 - 4pm at Coral Ridge Funeral Home, 950 Chiquita Blvd. S, Cape Coral, FL 33991. A 12:30pm burial with military honors will occur Wednesday, April 23rd at Sarasota National Cemetery, 9810 State Rd 72, Sarasota, FL 34241.
