Phyllis Marie Irvine

Phyllis M. Irvine, 86, of Cape Coral passed away Tuesday, November 11, 2014. Born May 25, 1928 in Lynn, MA, Phyllis (Cis) attended Lynn English HS. She married the love of her life Bob in 1950 they had 3 children. The family moved to Nahant in 1960 where they built their family home on Desmond Drive. “Grandy” as was endearing called, enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren, traveling with their many friends, and taking walks to the wharf and Tudor Beach. Cis was a respected member of the community, active and recognized participant within the church community and taught CCD. Speaking to her versatility, she was a Cub Scout leader, Garden Club, Floral Arranging and Interior Design enthusiast. In later years, Cis and Bob happily moved to Cape Coral and continued to travel with friends and participated with the St. Katherine Drexel Catholic Church community. Cis was a member of the Nahant Women’s Club, St. Thomas Aquinas Sodality, Nahant MA, St. Katherine Drexel Catholic Church, the Nahant Garden Club and the Nahant Women’s Club where she proudly served as the club's oldest member. Phyllis is survived by her beloved spouse of 64 years Robert W. Irvine; 3 loving children Robert G. Irvine of NY and Naples, Mark J. Irvine (Katherine Moletti) Irvine of Nahant, MA and Gayle A. Irvine Emond of Cape Coral; 4 dear grandchildren Katharine (James) Emond Lowande, Daniella (Jay) Irvine Gates, Heather Irvine and Mark Irvine, Jr.; 2 cherished great-grandchildren Landon J. Lowande and Haylee Mae Lowande. A funeral mass will be held at St. Katherine Drexel Catholic Church on Monday, November 17th at 1pm. Burial will be held in Greenwood Cemetery in Nahant, MA.
