Pearl Robinson Wilkinson was born on October 22, 1922 in Sheldon, South Carolina to Joseph Robinson, Sr. and Lucretia Major Robinson. She passed peacefully on March 1, 2018 at her home in Cape Coral, Florida.
Pearl attended Penn School on St. Helena Island, South Carolina and Hampton Institute in Hampton, Virginia. Following her studies at Columbia School of Nursing in Columbia, South Carolina, she enjoyed a long career as a Registered Nurse at Duke University Hospital in Durham, North Carolina, Grasslands Hospital in White Plains, New York, and more than twenty years with Veteran’s Administration Hospitals in New York City.
A devoted Christian, Pearl was baptized at Huspah Baptist Church in Sheldon, South Carolina and attended Siloam Presbyterian Church in Brooklyn, New York and First Church of God (now Water’s Edge Church) in Cape Coral, Florida.
Pearl was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend to many. In 1962, she was united in marriage to the late Lindon Joseph Wilkinson.
Those left to cherish her memory include her children Brenda Melvin and Lloyd Wilkinson, grandchildren Janay Wilkinson, Javon Wilkinson, Shadae Ashe Wilkinson and Shayla Ashe Wilkinson, son-in-law Morris Melvin, daughter-in-law Karen Wilkinson, nieces Mary Anne Robinson, Louise Robinson, Sonia Clarke, Mary Hinds, Donna Maxwell and Deborah Edmondson, nephews Harold Robinson and Joseph Robinson, great nieces Alicea Robinson Hall, Olivia Michel and Naomi Edmondson; great-nephews Dante Robinson, Julian Hinds and a host of cousins and friends.
Visitation will take place on Wednesday from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at Coral Ridge Funeral Home, 1630 SW Pine Island Rd., Cape Coral, FL. Funeral Services at 10 am on Thursday at Waters Edge Church with Entombment to follow at Coral Ridge Cemetery.
