After college, in 1973, Nathan obtained a position as a manager trainee at AmeriTrust in Cleveland, Ohio. He continued to have much success in the banking environment including AmeriTrust and Fifth Third Bank while living in Cleveland, Columbus and Cincinnati.
In 1992, Nathan moved to Cape Coral, Florida to assist his parents in settling into their new retirement life. He would enjoy a year of quality time with his parents before returning to his banking career with South Trust Bank. In 2000, Yoder Farms, later acquired by Syngenta, an international agricultural corporation, would recruit Nathan to join their organization as Strategic Business Partner in Human Resources. This position would bring worldwide travel opportunities that would take Nathan across the United States, Canada, Columbia, Guatemala and his beloved Puerto Rico.
Nathan retired in 2012 and would meet his soul mate, Lisa Garber, in 2015. Lisa was with Nathan when he passed away and is devastated by his loss. They make the perfect “we” and Nathan will be terribly missed by Lisa and his stepson Clayton Garber.
During Nathan and Lisa’s love story, they would have many adventures and traveled to Puerto Rico, Illinois, Ohio, Las Vegas, Chicago, Atlanta, Miami, Key West and visiting the “offspring” in Gainesville and Jacksonville. Nathan and Lisa had just returned from a wonderful trip to Jacksonville, Savannah, Augusta and Orlando.
