Millicent was born May 11, 1926 on a Wisconsin farm to loving Christian parents, Gladys and Abe Skone. She was educated at Cushing Grade School, Luck High School and Wisconsin University in River Falls, Wisconsin and graduated in May 1947. It was there she met the love of her life, Glenn V. Wallace. They were married at the Cushing Lutheran Church on August 14, 1948.
After graduation with a Degree in Secondary Education, Millicent taught High School English in Frederic, Wisconsin and also in Nevada, Indiana.
The couple moved to St. Paul, Minnesota, and later to Indianapolis, Indiana and also Peoria, Illinois, where Millicent returned to Illinois State University to get her Elementary Education Degree. She taught 20 1/2 years in Pekin, Illinois.
Children started to arrive, Roberta (1951) and Steven (1953) in St. Paul, Minnesota. Later, in Indiana, four more children came along: David (1958), Michael (1960), John (1964) and Ruth (1968).
Retirement came for Millicent a little after Glenn retired and after the children were raised, the couple moved to Cape Coral, Florida. Glenn, however, died in January 1995.
Millicent continued to substitute teach in the Cape Coral Schools for twenty years. After she retired again, she spent many happy hours at Trinity Lutheran Church and Anytime Fitness where she made lifetime friends.
Millicent is survived by her brother Ronald Skone and her children, ten grandchildren: Michael Gonzalez, John David, Diana, Sean Wallace, Stephanie Wallace, Brent Wallace, Ben Wallace, Emily Galen, Zach Galen and Jeremy Galen; and great-grandchildren: Wallace Gonzalez, Noel Gonzalez and Noel Wallace Gonzalez.
A Celebration of Life Ceremony will take place on February 3, 2024, 10:00am, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 706 SW 6th Avenue, Cape Coral, FL 33991
