Son of the late Norman and Rose McGrath was born on November 18, 1952 in Lowell MA. He was raised and educated in Tewksbury and graduated from Tewksbury Memorial High School in 1969. He received his Master of Science in Criminal Justice Administration from Western New England College in 1998.
Michael retired as a Lieutenant for the Lawrence police department in 2010, after 23 years of service. He received the medal of valor for his courage and dedication for the Lawrence Police Department.
Michael enjoyed spending time at the beach and watching the sunset. He also loved spending time making memories with family and friends. He was known for his quick wit comebacks and would fill the room with laughter.
Michael was predeceased by his parents Norman and Rose McGrath; Sister Susan Fielding; wife Sandra McGrath.
He will be sadly missed and is survived by his wife, Judith Arsenault McGrath; Brother Norman and his wife Denise; Sister Linda Doherty; Sister Carol and her husband Dave Ronan; Brother Brian and his wife Cindy; Brother Rob and his wife Michelle; as well as several nieces, nephews; great nieces and great nephews.
