Melody Nicole Lynn, 29, of Cape Coral, passed away January 13, 2015. Born July 3, Melody was diagnosed with cystic fibrosis at 7. She lived life with a fierce passion never allowing her disease to hinder her dreams. After attending Cypress Lake Center for the Arts she went on to graduate Cum Laude from FGCU with a B.S. in Resort & Hospitality Management despite a lung function of only 28%. She received a double-lung transplant on July 13, 2012. Melody was an award-winning dancer who performed and taught throughout SWFL. Her impact was profound as a mentor to the Gulf Elementary School Drama Club, a teacher at Competitive Edge Dance Studio, and a member of the Everbabes.
Melody is survived by her mother and father, Ginger & Michael Lynn; grandmother and grandfather, Bonnie & Jack Smith; aunts & uncles, Steve, Kenny, Linda, & Mike Smith, Susan Decatur, Buddy, Barbara, and Bonnie Jean Pooley, Dennie Helverson; and many beloved cousins.
Visitation will be from 12 pm to 2 pm on Wednesday at Grace Church, 13 SE 21st Place (Hancock Bridge Parkway & 21st Place) Cape Coral, FL 33990, with Funeral Services beginning at 2 pm. Entombment to follow at Coral Ridge Cemetery, Cape Coral.
