Maria Theresa Salvagio, 70 of Cape Coral, Florida passed away on Thursday, January 31, 2013. She was born on April 25. 1942 in Campofiorito Sicily, Italy to Filippo and Luigia Massa Bono. Maria moved to Cape Coral in July 1978 from New York. She loved the game of soccer, with her two favorite teams, AC Milan and the LA Galaxy, MLS. She especially loved the time she spent attending her son’s soccer matches. Even though she ran a catering business with her husband, she loved cooking for her family and friends. Maria’s family said their parents were not only married for 50 years but they were also best friends and did everything together. She was loved by many and shared her joy with all her friends. She will be remembered for her relationships with people and passion for life.
Maria is survived by her loving family including her husband, Frank Salvagio; sons, Louis (Wyndi) Salvagio of Palm Coast, FL and Phillip (Leslie) Salvagio of Carlsbad, CA; five grandchildren, Lyndsie, Leah, Ella, Franco, and Katrina,. She is preceded in death by her brother, Pietro Bono and sister, Lella Bono.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. on Friday at Coral Ridge Funeral Home, 1630 Pine Island Rd., Cape Coral. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday at St. Katharine Drexel Catholic Church, 1922 SW 20th Ave, Cape Coral. Followed by an entombment at Coral Ridge Cemetery with a celebration of life gathering at Rumrunners restaurant @ 12:30.
