Liliane Germaine Micheline (Bigot) Leclaire, 96 years of age, passed away into eternal life on Sunday, May 29, 2022. She died suddenly at home in Cape Coral, Florida where she was with her daughter Chantal Lamotte. Liliane was born October 3, 1925 in Coudun, France, where she grew up and married Michel Lamotte in 1950 and soon welcomed their first child Chantal. They immigrated to the US in 1957, and son Patrick was born, and daughter Catherine was soon to follow. Liliane's initial years in the states were happy until she became a widow upon Michel's unexpected death in 1962. Liliane later married Reginald Leclaire and moved from California to Michigan, and then retired in beautiful Cape Coral, Florida.
Liliane's life is a story filled with determination and survival. From a young adulthood living through the WWII occupation of France to later forging a way for her family in the US, Liliane persevered despite the roadblocks life presents. She met every challenge with tenacity and a strong will.
In her spare time, Liliane was excellent with her knitting needles - my, how quickly they moved to create clothing of all sorts.
Liliane is survived by her three children: Chantal Lamotte of Cape Coral, Florida; Patrick (Norma) Lamotte of Holland, Michigan; and Catherine (Michael) Bargellini of Middleburg, Florida. She is survived by her grand-daughter Bonnie (Alexander) van der Ven of Byron Center, Michigan. She has numerous nieces, nephews and cousins in France, as well as many children and grand-children through marriage. She was loved by all who knew her.
