Joseph Medeiros

Joseph Medeiros, 86, died Friday, August 19, 2022 at the Topic Adult and Family Care Home, N. Fort Myers, FL. Born August 4, 1936 in Providence, Rhode Island, he was the son of the late Anthony Medeiros and the late Sarah Clement Medeiros. A veteran of the United States Air Force, he served from 1954-1958 as an Electrical Navigation Equipment Technician and deployed to Saudi Arabia. As an Equipment Engineer, he started at AT&T and finished employment with Verizon in Pawtucket, Rhode Island, retiring in 2003. He was an avid golfer and mid-distance walker. He also sang with the choir at Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church in Manning, SC. He was predeceased by his loving wife, Margaret Regina Marcotte Medeiros and a sister, Helen Medeiros Enos. Surviving are two daughters, Kara John (Frank) of Cape Coral, FL and Alicia Mattson of New York; a son, Stephen A. Medeiros, Col, USMC (Ret) and (Sirrah) of Stafford, VA; a sister-in-law, Linda A. Marcotte Raymond of Manning, SC; a cousin, Roberta Costa Davis of Ojai, CA, four grandchildren, Kayleigh M. Bucur (Andrei), Stephen J. Medeiros, Elena M. Medeiros (Logan) and Teagan J. Mattson; and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held Saturday, 10 September 2022 at Coral Ridge Funeral Home and Cemetery with Deacon Edison Gibbons officiating. A visitation for Joseph will be held Saturday, September 10, 2022 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Coral Ridge Funeral Home & Cemetery, 950 Chiquita Blvd. S, Cape Coral, FL 33991, followed by a memorial service from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
