Joseph Elnathan “Mose” McDonald of Cape Coral, FL transitioned on to his Heavenly home on March 20, 2018. He lived 92 amazing years. He was born in the tiny district of Smithville, Clarendon on the island of Jamaica. He attended and completed 8 years of education at Smithville Elementary. He accomplished amazing things with that limited education. He migrated to the U.S. in the 1940’s and worked in the agriculture industry throughout the Midwestern and Southern states. He would go on to own several properties in Southern New Jersey & Pennsylvania, including a restaurant & bar. After mastering his craft in the hardwood floor installation and refinishing business. Joseph began his own business in 1980 and worked on many upscale homes & business on the Main Line of Philadelphia, New Jersey, Naples and Marco Island.
On July 6, 1991 Joseph married Phyllis W. Smith-Rousseau. This was Joseph’s & Phyllis’ 2nd marriage and they remained married for 26 + years until his passing.
Joseph leaves to cherish his precious memories, his beloved wife, Phyllis, his children Ron “Giffy” Esmond (Beverly), Shirley McDonald, Herbert McDonald (Marcella), Annette Robinson, Delores Hanson (David Sr.), & Jerry T. McDonald & Deborah Rousseau (stepdaughter). He was blessed to have 15 Grandchildren & 24 Great grandchildren along with a host of siblings, nieces and nephews. He was treasured and loved.
He was preceded in death by his children Rose Mae, Llyod Antonio, Claude Evertt McDonald, & Joyce Yvonne McDonald-Beamer.
Funeral services will be held at Coral Ridge Funeral Home & Cemetery, 1630 SW Pine Island Rd, Cape Coral, FL 33991, Wednesday, March 28, 2018 - 10am to noon.
The Repass will be held immediately following from 2pm- 4pm at the Kiwanis Banquet Hall, 360 Santa Barbara Blvd, Cape Coral, FL 33991.
