He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 sisters and 3 brothers. He is survived and will be missed by his wife of 48 years, Joan, and 5 children, Sophie Kuzmich, Alex D. Wayne (Karen), Nancy Mohabir, Christopher J Alliey (Martha) and John Paul Kuzmich (Dianna), 13 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
John attended school in Paterson, N.J. , graduating from Eastside High School. He joined the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict. When he returned from the service, he worked for a landscape company for about 10 years before joining Ford Motor Company, which he retired from in June 1980. He went to school and trained as a machinist and worked as a Maintenance Supervisor until 1989, when he moved to Cape Coral, Florida.
In 1973, he met Joan, his wife and they were married on February 16, 1974. At that time they had 3 children between them, Sophie, Alex, and Nancy. They welcomed a nephew, Christopher into their home to raise and then gave birth to John Paul in August of 1976.
After moving to Cape Coral, John worked as a school bus driver for the Lee County School System from which he retired in 2006 after 16 years of service at the age of 73.
John and Joan joined New Testament Baptist Church in 1989 and have spent much time through the years serving in many capacities. He loved his family and his church family. In recent years, he has enjoyed spending summer months in North Carolina and spent time reading his Bible and doing jigsaw puzzles.
A Memorial Service will be held at New Testament Baptist Church on Saturday January 7, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be held privately for the family.
