John C. Discepolo, 90, of Fort Myers passed away Tuesday, December 9, 2014. Discepolo, born and raised in Bridgeport, CT served in the 1369th Army Air Corps Base Unit in the 1940's. After returning home he spent nearly 50 years working his way up the ranks at General Electric in Bridgeport and eventually moved to Bordentown, NJ to work for Trane. Even after becoming an executive he was known for having intimate working knowledge of production line jobs and would not hesitate to step in to show better work place practices. He then worked as a coveted consultant, until he retired, whose emphasis was work flow and process improvement implementation. After retiring he moved to Whiting NJ and then permanently to FL. He loved traveling, boating, tennis and took a game of cards seriously. He will be missed by his family greatly.
He is survived by his wife of 4 years, Margaret; preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Florence; son John (Nancy) of Cape Coral, granddaughter Denise (Paulina) of Bridgeport, CT; also preceded in death by his brothers Vincent ("Jim") and William and sister Connie of Bridgeport, CT.
A visitation will be at Coral Ridge Funeral Home 1630 Pine Island Rd in Cape Coral on Monday, December 15 from 9:00-10:00 am. A memorial service mass will follow at St. Therese Catholic Church 20115 North Tamiami Trail in North Fort Myers at 11:00 am.
