George John Reeb, 76, died at his home on January 3, 2022, with his family at his side, after a long, courageous battle with brain cancer.
The only child of the late George Albert Reeb and the late Katharine Rita McAleer Reeb, he was born on May 17, 1945 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. George was raised and educated in Blackwood, New Jersey. After high school, he served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War. He lived in New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Maryland before settling in Arkansas. George had many hobbies - horses, cars, guns, traveling- but his passion was airplanes and his entire adult life he was in the aviation business. He owned and operated Reebaire Aircraft, Inc for many years - one of the largest privately owned aircraft maintenance, repair and overhaul facilities in the world. He was a successful businessman and greatly admired by his colleagues.
George is survived by his devoted wife of 35 years Mary A. Hrenick Reeb of Cape Coral, Florida; children: Stephanie (Reeb) and Douglas Sands of Cape Coral, Florida and Justin and Ashley Reeb of Sebastopol, California; 6 Grandchildren: Bradley Onstad (Ciara), Lindsay Onstad, Rylee Holmes, Ian Sands, Morgan and Ryder Reeb and 2 Great Grandchildren: Adonis and Mateus Onstad. Along with many close friends and family.
George was larger than life and never met a stranger. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. His retirement years were spent with family in Florida - he could be found enjoying a good martini, fishing or drinking a beer at the tiki bar. He will forever be missed.
At George’s request, no service will be held; but his family will hold a celebration of his life at a later date.
