Fran Zummo

Fannie (Fran) Zummo passed away peacefully on Friday March 14, 2025 at the age of 80. She was surrounded by her entire family. She was the devoted wife of Joseph Zummo for 58 years. Fran was born in Brooklyn NY, the only child of late Joseph and Katherine Maniscalco.

She is survived by her devoted husband, Joseph Zummo, with whom she shared a lifetime of love and companionship. She also leaves behind two children, Joseph Zummo & wife Darlene Zummo; Salvatore Zummo; Grandson Anthony Zummo; Granddaughter Christina Zummo and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. We also must mention her best friend and neighbor Rita Tusa. She always said "Rita is the sister I never had".

Fran & Joseph started their family after settling in Floral Park, Queens NY. She was a wonderful homemaker who loved cooking and spending time with family and friends.

Later they moved to Yorktown Heights, NY where Fran enjoyed working as a teacher at Westchester Exceptional Childrens School. She always spoke with fond memories of her time working at the school. After retiring to Cape Coral, Florida, Fran & Joe enjoyed golfing, cards, playing penny slots, dinners with neighbors and making new friends. She wanted everyone to be “Happy Happy”.

Fran's kindness, strength, and unwavering love will never be forgotten. She leaves behind a family deeply grateful for the love and care she gave so freely and unconditionally.

A Memorial Service in honor of Fran will be celebrated by Deacon Ed Gibbons at 2:00 PM on Saturday May 3, 2025 inside the Remembrance Event Center at Coral Ridge Funeral Home, 950 Chiquita Boulevard S, Cape Coral, FL 33991, (239) 283-0540. Friends are encouraged to arrive prior to this ceremony for a Memorial Gathering beginning at 12:00 Noon where guests can enjoy refreshments while sharing stories and memories about Fran with each other and the family.
