Esther Louise Townsend (nee: Albin), 77 of Punta Gorda, Florida passed away on January 1, 2017. Esther was born on April 19, 1939 in Tonasket, Washington, to Ethel and Crowel Albin. She graduated in 1957 from Cashmere High School in Cashmere, WA. In 1968, after returning from 2 years on the island of Guam she moved to Renton, WA and accepted a position as a Medical Office Manager, and later accepting the same position in medical office practices in Plano Texas, Atlanta Georgia, Boca Raton, Florida and Port Charlotte, Florida, retiring in 1998.
Esther was a great family woman and a loving mother. She married Robert in 1959 and the couple had two children together, including Karen Blakely and Cynthia (Paul) O’Dea.
Esther was a social, active woman who was deeply involved in the Punta Gorda Elkettes for several years, serving as President and District Delegate. Her family and friends will always remember her as a very sweet, caring and dedicated person.
Esther is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, Robert; her daughters, Karen Blakely of Punta Gorda, and Cynthia (Paul) O’Dea of Warner Robins, Georgia; sister Naomi Wicker of Spokane, WA; four grandchildren; and three great grandchildren. Esther is preceded in death by her parents Ethel and Crowel Albin of Cashmere, WA, sister Ruthanna Petruss of Spokane, WA, and her brother Lawerance Albin of Bellevue, WA.
Celebration Life Services will be at 11:00 am on Thursday, January 5th at Punta Gorda Elks Lodge, 25538 Shore Dr., Punta Gorda 33950.
