Ellen Joan Winfield

Ellen graduated from Oak Park-River Forest High School in Oak Park, IL in 1971. Following a 20 year career as a dental office manager, Ellen went on to work for and retire from State Farm in Punta Gorda, FL. Ellen was an avid music lover, especially The Eagles. She also enjoyed live performances and could be found at local theaters often. She took great pride in her lovely home which she frequently opened to family and friends. When you were invited into Ellen’s home you were guaranteed an excellent meal with too many laughs to count, thanks to her incredible sense of humor.

Ellen also enjoyed traveling whenever she could to wherever she could. She was fortunate enough to spend time traveling to several places with her family and close friends. Ellen’s family was her pride and joy. She regularly spent her time with her two granddaughters and bragged about them often. Those who knew Ellen also knew well her eye for aesthetics. From her own artwork to her interior decorating and landscaping decisions, such a beautiful person was aptly surrounded by beauty.

She is survived by her children, Christen Spotts, Mitchell Spotts, Samantha Spotts, and Taryn Spotts, as well as her grandchildren, Harlow Lindsay and Rowan Spotts.

A celebration of Ellen’s life will take place on her birthday, April 6th, 2023, at Coral Ridge Funeral Home and Cemetery located at 950 Chiquita Blvd, Cape Coral, FL 33991. There will be visitation from 12:00pm thru 2:00pm, followed by the service which will take place from 2:00pm to 3:00pm. Any and all friends and family, near and far, are welcome to come remember Ellen’s remarkable life with those who knew and loved her dearly.
