Tell her that I love and miss her
and when she turns to smile,
place a kiss upon her cheek and hold her for awhile.
Our family lost our beautiful matriarch, Eleanor S. Arno, on November 15, 2021. Mom passed away peacefully in her sleep.
Mom was born on March 21, 1925 in Latrobe, PA to Ernest and Anna (Moran) Springer. She was the youngest of four children.
After Mom’s retirement from Sprint as a Directory Assistance telephone operator, she enjoyed many years taking care of her beautiful home, listening to music, playing the organ, caring for her dogs, and sitting on her lanai listening to her wind chimes and enjoying the cool breeze. She was the best mother/grandmother any child could ask for. Our fondest memories are always sitting at the kitchen table sharing a meal and enjoying each other.
Mom was preceded in death by her devoted son, Patrick. Surviving are her two daughters: Colleen (Steve) Tredway; Erin (Brent) Labreche; one son, Kerry (Tracy) Kenney; one sister, Marion Statler. Mom leaves behind her cherished grandchildren Brian, Stephanie, Alea, Kerry, Shawn, Ryann and Luke (Jenise); eight great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.
Mom was a devout Roman Catholic. She was a member of St. Andrew Catholic Church.
She led by example. She was kind, caring, generous and always there when any of us needed anything. We will miss her every day.
Special thanks to the entire staff at Gull Point at Estero who provided invaluable care, her favorite meals and tender touches while she was there.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, December 23, 2021 at 2:00 PM in Our Lady of Light Catholic Community in Estero.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in mom’s memory may be made to the St. Vincent DePaul Society.
