David Earl Thompson passed away on September 22, 2015, at the age of 50 after a long battle with cancer. David was born in Louisiana and raised in Satellite Beach, Florida. He graduated from Satellite High in 1982 and University of Florida in 1990. He was a true Gator! He moved to Fort Myers, Florida where he met and married Julie Tanner. For 23 years, they lived a wonderful life playing softball, fishing, boating, and raising their two beautiful children Wade, age 13, Saige, age 10. They were Dave's heart and soul. Dave was a devoted employee at Chemical Containers for more than 20 years. He is survived by his wife, Julie Thompson, children Wade and Saige Thompson, his mom and dad, Dixie and James Thompson, sisters, Robin Robb and Tina Sage, and his nieces and nephews. Services will be held at CLF 1200 SW 20th Avenue, Cape Coral, Florida 33991, on Sunday, October 4th, at 2:30 pm to celebrate his life. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations that will be dispersed to patients of Florida Cancer to help those less fortunate pay for treatment that insurance does not cover.
