Carl Edward Flack Sr., a resident of North Fort Myers, Florida, passed away on Friday, January 19, 2024. He was born on December 28, 1927, in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, to Edwin and Mabel Flack (McVaugh). Carl, being the only child, graduated from Olney High School in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, before dedicating himself to military service in the Navy, where he proudly served as a World War II veteran.
Throughout his life, Carl was not only a devoted family man but also a committed community member. He spent many years as a Boy Scouts Troop Leader, fostering the growth of young individuals. Beyond his service, he found joy in activities such as boating and camping.
Carl faced the loss of his beloved wife of 47 years, Clara Anna (Miller), in 1994, as well as the passing of his son, Carl Edward Flack Jr., and his oldest daughter, Carol Ann Sykora, in 2022.
He is survived by his youngest daughter, Adrienne C. Hertzog (widowed by James P. Hertzog), Linda Klump Flack (widowed by Carl Flack Jr.), and Phil Sykora (widower of Carol Sykora). Additionally, Carl leaves behind a legacy through his 7 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren, as well as his live-in companion Betty Sells.
Funeral services will take place on Tuesday, January 30 at 11am at Coral Ridge Cemetery.
