Amber L. Blackwell, beautiful and beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend was born in Gainesville, Florida on September 25, 1979. With grit, strength, and tenacity, Amber steadfastly battled a hard fight over the past year. On the morning of June 29, 2024, Amber was freed from her pain. She is now reunited with her mother and father, Mary and Greg Kolaz, and many other family members in heaven.
Christopher R. Blackwell, Amber’s husband of almost twenty-seven years, met his little firecracker when they were just kids. From the moment they met, he knew he wanted to be with her forever, and they were inseparable ever since. They built the beautiful, simple life they wanted and raised their daughters, Brandy T. Blackwell (Bob) and Brooke H. Rice Blackwell (Jarred), with so much love and playfulness. Amber was so happy and content in her role as Mimi and spoiled her four beautiful grandsons, Hayes C. and Carson B. Townsend and Marshall D. and Beckett R. Rice Blackwell, with so much love and tenderness. Her greatest joy was spending every minute she could with her family. If you ever met Amber, you know just how tough she was. She would stand up for anyone that needed it and was the most selfless person. She gave the best advice because she always knew what was right. Amber supported her entire family with everything she had. She had so many friends, as she made friends quite literally everywhere she went. She also had some friends who were able to be there through every bit of it. Essentially, Amber deserved the whole world and then some.
Amber is survived by her loving husband, daughters, grandsons, and siblings Quentin Darna (Angel), Samantha Darna, and Heather Runner (JJ).
In lieu of flowers, the family requests those who wish to express sympathy to please consider making a donation to The Ronald McDonald House or St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital in Amber L. Blackwell’s name.
Amber’s family looks forward to celebrating her life with everyone who has been touched and loved by her. A Celebration of Life event will be held Saturday, July 20, 2024 at 2:00 pm at Alluring Acres Farm (10550 Deal Road, North Fort Myers, FL 33917)
