Services for William A. Smith, 86, of Canton, are scheduled for 11 am Saturday, November 24, 2018, at Eubank Funeral Chapel in Canton with Clayton Conway officiating. Interment will be in Holly Springs Cemetery.
Mr. Smith passed away November 20, 2018 in Tyler, TX. He was born April 2, 1932 in Maypearl, TX to Abner Clement and Nora Bell Harp Smith.
Bill served in the US Navy during the Korean War. He married Judith on July 1, 1962. Through the years, Bill enjoyed playing in bands. He was a founding member of the Rhythm Ramblers and the East Texas Cotton Pickers. He also played with Bob Shelton and the Sunshine Boys and many other bands. Bill retired from Texas Instruments after 33 years of service. He was a member of the Canton Church of Christ.
Mr. Smith is preceded in death by his parents and a sister and brother-in-law: Minnie and Grady Richardson.
Bill is survived by his wife, Judith of Canton; son, Tony Smith of Canton; daughter, Barbara Lamance of Athens; sister and brother-in-law, Louise and Charles Lile of Irving; three nephews and two nieces.
Visitation will be 5-7 pm Friday at the funeral home.
