Graveside services for William Jackson McMillan are scheduled for 2 pm Tuesday, November 15, 2016, at Haven of Memories in Canton under the direction of Eubank Funeral Home. Mr. McMillan passed away November 12, 2016 surrounded by his family. Mac was born December 29, 1934 in Andalusia, AL.
Survived by his wife Barbara McMillan and three children, son William Wayne McMillan his wife Denise McMillan, his daughter Teresa Lynn McMillan and son Joseph Grant McMillan. Also survived by his brother Jerry McMillan and his wife Jane McMillan. His Grandchildren Erin Hall her husband Kyle Hall, Brian Sheeley, Chase McMillan, Steven Sheeley , Blair and Steven Trout, Kari and Erik Burkhardt. Great grandchildren Cooper Jackson Hall, Weston Brook Hall, Anderson Rose Hall, Boston Crew Burkhardt, Maxwell Blair Burkhardt.
Proceeded in death by his parents Claude McMillan and Aria Lovelace McMillan, Brother Jimmy McMillan and sister Joan McMillan.
Mac joined LTV Aerospace in 1965 and was named Director of Investment and Analysis in 1978. In 1980 he was named Controller of the Multiple Launch Rocket System (MLRS) program and served on the Board of Directors of the MLRS International Corporation. He became Vice President of LTV Missiles Division in 1984, and in 1986 was named Vice President and Group Financial Officer of the Missiles and Electronics Group. He served in this capacity till May 1999 when he became Vice President of Business Operations of the Aircraft Division of LTV Aerospace and Defense. In August 1992 Vought Aircraft Corporation was sold to the Carlyle Group and Northrup Grumman, Mac was named Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of the Vought Corporation. Mac retired May 31, 1997. He was a Major in the Marine Corp Reserves from 1957 – 1966. He was an avid hunter, and enjoyed his time with his buddies in Louisiana and in Brady Texas.
Through his successful career his greatest success was the love and devotion for his family and his faith in God.
