Vivian Chaney McMillan

Born October 25, 1926 in Martins Mill, Texas to the late Zereth C. and Ora Johnston Chaney. Vivian passed away peacefully on September 19, 2021.

In 1943 Vivian graduated valedictorian from Martins Mill High School. She married her beloved, William Douglas McMillan, Jr. on November 25, 1948 in Austin, Texas, where they both graduated from the University of Texas in 1949. Since 1955, Vivian and Bill made their home in Ft. Worth, Texas.

Vivian earned a Master of Education degree from Texas Christian University in 1957. A US Navy veteran, Bill retired as a lieutenant commander from the Naval Reserve and later as a nuclear aerospace engineer from General Dynamics. Vivian retired after many years as a teacher in the Ft. Worth ISD. In retirement the couple enjoyed traveling and playing bridge. Vivian served as a docent at the Ft. Worth Museum of Natural History. She was a faithful member of Arborlawn United Methodist Church.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Bill; parents, Zereth and Ora Chaney; siblings, Naoma Landers, Janell McMahan, Millie Beth Crocker and Z. C. "Sonny" Chaney, Jr.

Vivian is survived by her sister, Ouida C. Williams; several nieces and nephews and extended family members.
